Large Face Jug, stoneware, 2011 by Matthias Merkel Hess and Monique Van Genderen

about:

The Face Jugs were created in collaboration with Monique Van Genderen and presented at the Free City Supershop in Hollywood as part of the store's Basic Goodness show. Monique and I made a variety of sizes of face jugs, including many small bottles and five larger bottles that would hold 6 to 8 gallons of liquid if filled. The show also included moonshine in Artist Proof jugs painted by Margo Victor, ceramic cups and shot glasses by Shoshi Kanokohata, apple sculptures by Lisa Sitko and of course, Free City's whole collection of crazy goodness, bread, bikes and more.
