The Sponge Factory is a small kiln designed to fire sponges dipped in clay slip. The fired sponges then are ready to soak up all kinds of thoughts.

Many props to the inspiration for this piece and inventor of the minigama, Japanese potter Akira Yoshika. Also, when I made this piece, I had no knowledge of the Sponge Factory Lofts in Philadelphia.
